Dover Behavioral Health System offers an Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance use disorder at our location in Dover, Delaware. Our Adult IOP is provided by our dedicated, experienced staff of healthcare professionals in a positive, healing environment, with daytime and evening hours available.

Chemical dependency is a highly treatable disease and the Adult IOP offers customized outpatient treatment for individuals with substance use disorder problems to help them overcome their dependency on alcohol and/or drugs.

What is an IOP?

An Intensive Outpatient Program or IOP is a part-time day program that allows for the most freedom for patients while also offering structure, therapies and counseling. An IOP can benefit those trying out treatment for the first time, while also supplying a great step-down for those in long term residential or even Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) treatment.

Overcoming substance use challenges and maintaining sobriety can be difficult, especially while balancing work, family and other responsibilities. Our IOP is designed specifically to provide support, structure and flexibility for adults seeking help with alcohol and/or drug dependency, as well as those who want continued support in maintaining their recovery.

This program will help you establish and process recovery goals and strengthen personal relationships, and will offer personalized guidance as well as:

Daytime and Evening Options

We offer both an in-person daytime program and a virtual evening program three days per week, Monday through Friday. You can choose the program that best fits into your schedule.

• Our daytime in-person program is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Our evening virtual program is offered from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The program includes virtual group therapy, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities, where individuals can connect, share experiences and build a supportive community.
